In years past, I have witnessed and complained about cars driving on the SW Path from Breese terrace to park in the back yards of Regent Street houses on Badger game days. Although I suggested bollards to physically stop this, the signage added by the City seems to have made a big difference. There were no cars seen there on Saturday night, with the exception of the cars parked on the vacant corner lot where a service club is selling food. (Do they drive on the sidewalks?)
Another improvement was seen at the Commonwealth Avenue crossing. New No Parking signs prohibit parking too close to the crossing. (there were two violators there; both had tickets.) This crossing has always been difficult for northbound bikes to see past parked cars to view northbound traffic on Commonwealth. On non-Badger days, it appeared that cars parking in this area might have been those of drivers who got on a bike for the last part of their trip to campus or downtown. Good for them, but parking further from the crossing should make it safer for all.
