Hello Matt: As I said to someone earlier today, opponents would allege that passing the RTA resolution would lead to monkeys throwing bananas at people on State Street, if they thought they could get away with it.
We have a transportation system that is centered on the automobile. The culture that goes with that is going to get elbowed aside as we build smarter, closer in, and denser, with walkable neighborhoods that can be served by transit. I wouldn't be fighting for this if I didn't think it would make a difference. So the automobile-only folks are correct - it will change the world. And their lifestyle will become an anachronism.
