Thanks much Hans and Buzz Buzz 239-5354 We Support Establishing the Dane County Regional Transit Authority The Dane County board needs to approve the creation of the Regional Transit Authority so we can get to the business of helping more people use mass transit rather than personal vehicles for work, medical and recreational trips. Light rail, environmentally clean buses, better cab systems, bike paths and other ideas are what we need to consider and make public investments in. We urge our city councils, village and town boards and school boards to go on record in favor of setting up the Dane County Regional Transit Authority. We urge our Dane county board of supervisors to pass the resolution creating the RTA quickly. We realize the funding of the RTA will be from an increase in our sales tax. And we advocate that the RTA board place the sales tax proposal before the voters for approval in a future countywide referendum. We know we need to change our life style to reduce air pollution, reduce gasoline use, reduce traffic growth and reduce the need for more and more roads. The RTA is a good, strong first step that will enable us to conserve resources, save farmland, spend less on private transportation and make Dane county a better place to live.
