A further report from my co-worker, who is not deterred by a little
ice and snow:

"Lake Monona path looked good, but the path from John Nolan to North
Shore and North Shore to Mills was covered in deep slushy, unrideable
snow.  I used the parking lot next to the path a bit and it got better
as I approached Park St.  But North Shore to Park was not rideable."
