I rode down the Missing Link again this morning, and conditions were much
improved. Some of the stretches that were impossible yesterday, were excellent
today, and every part was reasonably rideable.

The colder weather probably gets some credit for this change, but it looks like
the City did some good work on some of yesterday's trouble spots, and I think
they deserve our thanks and appreciation.

I had a hard time too on the Missing Link this morning. It looked to me like
the worst sections were next to the parking lots at University Station and that
apartment complex just south of W. Main St. Is it possible that some snow got
pushed onto the path, intentionally or not, when the parking lots were cleared?

I don't think this is is the only problem -- the snow was deep in a few other
stretches, too -- but I think it might be part of the problem.

While the Southwest path seems to be in good shape, except for intersections,
one of my co-workers reports that the "missing link" is covered with deeply
rutted snow, likely to shortly freeze. Does anyone have any idea why
conditions vary so much?
