Although the comments from local officials are certainly nowhere near
as bad as a few years ago, it still pains me to see the assumption
that the towns are getting nothing out of this. There is also a
comment about how some of the resistance is because locals have
perceived cyclists as being "rude" in the past.
Oh, if we could charge out of town drivers to use our roads because
some have been rude!
And how does the City of Madison benefit from all the commuters coming
through our city every day, using out local roads, tying up traffic,
and stinking up our air?
I'm trying not to stir things up, but what really bothers me is the
first comment in the comments section. In case the Madison.com admin
removes it, I will copy it here for posterity:

road, really hit the road."
Sorry, but I do not see that it is acceptable to advocate violence
against anyone.
