Even if you don't always agree with everything said, or wish that more or different information was included, I think publicity about bicycling is good. Today's Cap Times had an article about Shorewood Hills police ticketing bicyclists for blowing through stop signs. From the article:
"In fact, police in the leafy green suburb on Lake Mendota wrote some 20 citations to offending cyclists last week and plan to keep at it all summer, says village Police Chief Dennis Pine. Pine says the village isn't demanding that bicyclists come to a complete halt and set a foot down at stop signs. "All we're asking is that bicyclists slow down so they're able to stop if a car is there," says Pine." I can live with that. At least slow to the point where you _could_ stop if needed.
