The meeting will feature a presentation by former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist, President and CEO of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). Norquist is one the nation's premier champions for livable downtowns. As mayor of Milwaukee, Norquist oversaw a revision of the city's zoning code and reoriented development around walkable streets and public amenities such as the city's 3.1-mile Riverwalk. He now leads the national CNU which focuses on restoration of existing urban centers and reconfiguration of sprawling suburbs into real neighborhoods. Annual election of CNI executive council members will also be held. The program is free and open to the public.
