I don't know Hans, I think I'd still go w/a Bike Friday Tikit: http://community.bikefriday.com/tikit. Seems like it's easier/quicker to fold than this IF Mode. However, both are pretty cool folding bikes. -Aaron

IF Mode – the most stunningly clever folding bicycle idea I’ve seen yet. Unlike most of the “concept” bikes out there in the ethereal world* (which wouldn’t ever work in the real world if they WERE built) – this one is real...apparently. Scroll down to watch the video. http://www.gizmag.com/ifmode-folding-bicycle/11349/ Hans Noeldner *like this stupid thing with a ridiculous hollow crank: http://www.gizmag.com/electric-bike-concept-space-saver/14732/ EARTH TO Mr. Fujimura – have you ever checked out how much rolling friction there is in a nine or ten inch slewing ring bearing? Even when there aren’t any dust shields or seals to keep out rain, salt slush, sand, doggy do, etc? Hint to non-engineers who might otherwise be intrigued by such proposals: any time you see a concept vehicle with a wheel or other rotational mechanism which has a huge hole in the middle where normally one finds an axle or shaft…forget it!
