Hello Madison Bikies, Did you know Lance Armstrong is coming to Madison on August 29, 2010 for Ride the Drive?
Ride the Drive is a one day event where we close a six mile loop downtown to cars and motorized traffic, and open it up only to bikes, walkers, runners, and other non-motorized traffic. It's a great community event with activities, booths, music, and lots of fun along the route. In June, over 20,000 people enjoyed the event. In order to host such an event, we need the help of many volunteers. Volunteers are needed as intersection guides, bike ambassadors, information station volunteers, activity helpers and much more. Shifts vary from 2 hours to all day, so find the one that works for you. Have even more fun and volunteer with a friend for the same shift. All volunteers can sign up online at the Ride the Drive Volunteer webpage: http://www.cityofmadison.com/transportation/ridethedrive/volunteer.cfm Thank you again for your support of this community event presented by the City of Madison, Madison Parks, and Trek! See you August 29th! Anne Whisner Recreation Services Coordinator City of Madison Parks Division 608.267.4919 Office [email protected]
