You can do this super cheap. First buy an Ultripod Mini Tripod for around
10-dollars. This tripod has a Velcro strap for attaching to posts, small
trees ans such. Keep the legs of the tripod folded down and rap it through
the top vents of your helmet. Now attach a small video recorder to the
tripod. That's it.

I use a simple digital camera set on video mode, which doesn't take the best
videos, but still not bad. Here's a sample from cooler times:
