See message below for the link to the agenda for the Pedestrian/Bicycle/Motor Vehicle Commission meeting next week. The meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov 23 at 5:00 PM in Room 260 of the Madison Municipal Bldg.
On the agenda, besides fairly routine items: Comments on draft of the Downtown Plan. There is a section on transportation in the plan, labeled "Getting Around," but people may be interested in other aspects of the downtown plan, which covers residential and commercial development, businesses, urban design, street amenities, and other aspects of downtown life, business, and retail. Comments on the Wisconsin DOT plans for Verona Rd. There are three proposed phases, lasting from a couple of years out to 2030. This is a very large, expensive project, and will both the reconstruction work and final plans will affect every mode of transportation. Relocation order for the SW Path to allow construction of the new Charter St heating plant on campus and financial agreement between the city and UW. This is really not as exciting as it sounds. It's pretty routine stuff, and plans have already been developed for both moving the path and a detour during construction, but in case anyone sees the item and wonders, I thought I'd mention it. There are other items, like quarterly police traffic reports, a parking change on the SW side, and reports from other committees. If you would like to speak on any items, please fill out a registration form at the meeting. You will have three minutes to speak on any item. You may also speak on any matter not on the agenda during the public comment period at the beginning of the meetings, but we will not be able to discuss any matter not publicly noticed.
