While bicycle-related health sounds like a convincing argument, I feel this
is the wrong message to send to a Governor who has expressed a preference
for "Jobs jobs jobs" and repealing Obamacare. We are dealing with
conservatives here, with a very very narrow idea of what the value of
bicycling is - and based on my experience, are not the least bit interested
in listening to anybody else's opinion on the matter, least of all that of
the BFW. Lobbying the Republicans that control the state would be a lot
easier if you gave them a reason they already will accept to support
bicycling. Since Republicans want to return to the 1950's, I believe it
would be much more effective to promote a 1950's image of providing better
bicycling facilities for schools.

Subject: [Bikies] Support Wisconsin Health through Better Bicycling - Letter
to Gov. Walker

Dear Bikies,

Now is the time to reach out to incoming legislators and tell them about the
great benefits bicycling has on the health of Wisconsin. If you are a
Wisconsin health care provider or medical professional, please consider
joining with your colleagues across the state in asking our leaders to
support improved biking in Wisconsin.

The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin will be presenting the letter,
"Bicycling: A Good Prescription for Wisconsin," to Governor Scott Walker,
the new cabinet secretaries and all Wisconsin legislators in early February.
Electronic signatures will be collected online until Friday, February 4th.

support this important message.

Brian
