I see his election as a slight issue for cyclists. Mayor Dave had the
city going in a great direction, taking advantage of national programs
(LAB Gold City level, etc). With the State cutting bike-ped funding
(understood that it was a fraction of the overall considering federal
$$) but the budget at the fed level going... who nose where... I think
it's time to get your typewriter out and bash out some personal if not
civil letters to Paul, restating all the goals and positive things that
biking locally, state wide do for the economy, health, quality of life,
etc. Me? The Analogy I might draw is... 'Paul, I hear that you are not
as strong a supporter of cycling as the previous mayor. Does that mean
you are pro-highway repair... like... Gov. Walker? I think the last
place he wants to be put is anywhere close to Gov (ahem) Walker.
As Pat Pieper, fabled field announcer for the Cubs used to say...
'Ladies and gentlemen... get your typewriters... and postage stamps....
ready... for the linueps... for this season's... political.... lobbying
campaign"
