I think we ought to invite Hizzonor Soglin on a ride before that and show the
good parts and parts that need improving of Madison cycling as a lifestyle and
as sport. But we also have to point out that cycling is a land use issue. Not
only in terms of roads and pike paths but in how residents depend on cycling to
live and work where they do. We also need to demonstrate how 'ped' power
reduces resident's (tax payer's) costs and the city reduces its tax burden and
increases its tax revenue by encouraging cycling and walking. I feel we need to
do another Tour de Madison.Heck, I'll ride a diamond-frame bike if I have to
just so that I can talk to the mayor eye-to-eye. ;-)
