Bike enthusiasts of Dane County:

The 2011 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships are only nine days
away. Our organizing committee is finalizing plans, hammering out details, and
doing everything we can to please the weather gods. But, WE ARE STILL IN NEED
OF VOLUNTEERS!!!

This is where you come in. Simply stated, we cannot run the event without our
volunteers. If you can make an effort to volunteer for at least one shift
throughout the weekend, we would be very, very appreciative. If you can recruit
a friend to volunteer with you, even better! Signing up is easy. Just visit
"Ride the Divide"(http://nationals.uwcycling.org/"; >this site and submit the
online form.

The available volunteer spots are:
--May 6: 7:30am to Noon (Road Race in Blue Mounds, WI)
--May 6: 11:30am to 4:30pm (Road Race in Blue Mounds, WI)
--May 7: 7:30am to 11:00am (Team Time Trial in Waterloo, WI
--May 8: 7:30am to 10:30am (Criterium in Madison, WI)
--May 8: 10:15am to 1:30pm (Criterium in Madison, WI)

Please note that the unpredicted effects of road construction have caused us to
move the site of the criterium. The new course will be at University Research
Park. The schedule of events remains the same.

Reasons to volunteer:
--You get a free t-shirt!!
--It *will* be nice outside!!
--You will see hundreds of cyclists pedal at speeds of, at times, over 35 mph!!
--You will help promote cycling in Dane County in a positive way!!
--You will show the country how the City of Madison, Dane County, and the State
of Wisconsin can support and run such a large cycling-related event!!
--What better way to spend a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday than by watching bike
racing in your own backyard!!

In addition, the weekend kicks off with a screening of
So please, volunteer.

Yours on two wheels,
Ken Huxtable
