Also, in many cities, the event is about more than just moving along a corridor. It's a street fair and chance to get out and see the neighborhood. We have several of these already in Madison: Willy St and Atwood Fairs, Mifflin Block Party, Art Fair on the Square, etc. Interestingly, these wonderful events are actually too crowded for biking or otherwise moving faster than a slow walk. The events alternately called Ciclovias, Sunday Parkways, Open Streets, etc, always make sure there's space for people that want to bike, skateboard, rollerblade, etc as well. But again, wouldn't it be great to "repossess" our streets in some other areas of the city besides our already walk/bike/skate/blade/roll/jog-friendly neighborhoods? Robbie
