*Subject:* [Bikies] Nominations for alternative names for a "bike rodeo"?
Here's a little idea that has been tumbling around in my head for a while.
Every time that I hear "bike rodeo" I envision people trying to learn
how to ride fixed gears and being bucked off of their bikes.
Kid's bike rodeos, which are the only ones I've ever heard reference
to, sound confusing and off-putting to me.
It's not an intuitive name for a bike safety event, even if that event
includes challenging bike skill activities.
I am greatly in favor of holding these types of events for kids and
adults alike, and I think that we could come up with a better, more
descriptive and equally fun-sounding name for this type of bike skills
and safe-riding event.
I am under the impression that our bike rodeos would be better
attended if parents and kids understood what the event entailed when
they hear about it or see a posting or event listing in the media.
What do you other bikies think?
