In my neighborhood I am happy to see that what was previously a nearly
unrideable "sidewalk" along the golf course is being redone and
designated (at least by the detour signs they have out) as a bike path.
The 'path' runs from the SW trail at Glenway, west and north along side
the Glen Way Golf Course up to Speedway. Of course at Speed Way the
whole thing gets dicey and ends at a metal traffic railing. They have
even graded one high spot on the path (closer to the SW path) and are
putting in a retaining wall to keep it relatively level (of course it
does go up hill to Mineral Point/Speedway).
There is a rather comical bike lane on the street here that peters out
at the first traffic calming island. I don't mind pedaling through here
and blocking traffic at the traffic calmers, but having a dedicated path
for the end of my commute will be nice.
Getting across Mineral Point/Speedway will still be a drag but otherwise
life is good
