That is a route that I take to work either by bicycle or automobile. It is a
very busy intersection especially during business rush hours and I'm sure it
will be for school hours as well. Right across the street is Badger Bowl.
Rimrock is a four lane road, at least, and so it becomes an issue of crossing
in time during the pedestrian light. If possible, I would recommend putting a
school crossing at least a half block south of Badger Rd. That way pedestrians
aren't having to watch out for turning turning traffic at the intersection of
Badger and Rimrock. The intersection an access point for the Beltline and
Badger Road/Industrial Drive is used an alternate route during Beltline rush
hour backups.
My two centsDarryl

On the agenda:

Request for temporary crossing guard at new Badger Rock School. Because they
can't move into their permanent building until January, many/most kids will
have to cross Rimrock Rd to get from neighborhood to school. Middle schools do
not currently get crossing guards, so the discussion may be interesting in that
respect: Are middle school kids old enough to cross even busy roads without
crossing guards?

Informational presentation on new bike corral(s)

Informational presentation on proposed bike station in Gov East/MMB
development. Assume it will also be about the study on the whole development.

Quarterly traffic enforcement report.

Full agenda can be found on the city's web site by checking the Weekly Meetings
link.
PBMVC meets at 5 PM in Room 260 of the MMB.
