This weekend is the Heartland Velo Show at the Alliant Center Madison. You see a number of local, regional and even some national handbuilders there, as well as some shops and business whose products or services might come in handy. The are a number of seminars planned as well.

Shameless promo alert: At noon on Saturday, we're putting on a seminar covering the history of the Schwinn Paramount with a special guest, Oscar Wastyn (Jr), whose dad built most of the Paramounts from 1938-58. He has a bike shop in Chicago and it steeped in the old Chicago bike culture going back a hundred years. He'll be bring some super sweet bikes to show, including a 1910 race bike built by his Grandfather, Emil Wastyn, considered Chicago's premier builder for decades. if you are a bike history geek, it's worth a change of weekend plans.

Richard
