Over the last few days Wisconsin Tea Party groups have been tooting the Agenda 21 horn especially loudly to try to rally support for repealing the States Smart Growth law.
This is especially concerning considering that 56% of Americans polled in April of this year like the idea of building more walkable, bikeable communities served by good transit: NAR Study Finds Americans Prefer Smart Growth Communities Americans favor walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods, with 56 percent of respondents preferring smart growth neighborhoods over neighborhoods that require more driving between home, work and recreation. Here is an e-mail that is being broadcast from Senator Grothmans office that demonstrates the panic they are trying to create: Dear Serious Wisconsin Taxpayers, On election eve 2008, President Obama said, "We are 5 days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America." Like many of you, I am frightened about the direction this country is heading at such a rampant pace. One of my many worries as of recent is something known as the: United Nation's Agenda 21 Plan to fundamentally transform the globe and is coming to a community near you soon - if it isn't in place already. Apparently, enough of you taxpayer advocates have been expressing similar concerns to your state elected officials that yesterday a new bill was introduced in the Wisconsin State Legislature to allow communities to opt out of the "Smart Growth" movement. A copy of the bill is pasted below for your information. Earlier this summer, one of Wisconsin's fine taxpayer groups sponsored a workshop on Agenda 21 here at the Capitol. I eagerly attended and took in every word in my quest to answer the question, "What is UN Agenda 21?" There is no quick one sentence response as Agenda 21 covers a spectrum of freedom-limiting issues being implemented by the United Nations powerbrokers and thrust upon each state and community. From what I have read, the seeds of this global power grab took root in the 1980s & 1990s. There is an elite global force trying to mandate extreme Cap & Trade types of energy policies on Americans wherein they are trying to limit the rights and freedom of private property owners, validate all of the "Global Warming" hype, population control, pushing high-density housing, pushing high-speed rail, regulating the use of private cars out of existence, mandating the use of "Smart Meters" to monitor your family's activities, energy audits, and the list goes on and on. (Sidenote: Thank you, Wisconsinites, for hearing the call last Session and stepping up to help us stop Doyle's extreme "Cap & Trade" bill that would have been devastating to Wisconsin.) "Sustainability" and "Sustainable Development" are key phrases the international policymakers are using to sell their agenda to a naïve and unsuspecting public. Freedom-loving Americans need to remember the United States is a sovereign nation which means we Do Not take our marching orders from outside forces. As the bill makes its way through the State Legislature, I sincerely invite you to get more information about Agenda 21 and its ramifications for you and your family if implemented.
