Apparently some folks on this list have some pull with traffic
engineering. A number of weeks ago neighbors living on the East Mifflin
Bike Blvd noticed traffic engineering doing work on our block. After
some investigation, we learned that a few users of the Bike Blvd
requested a few stop signs be reversed at two intersections - N. Few
and N. Blount. Those of us living on the East Mifflin Bike blvd
contacted our alder, Bridgit Maniaci, to ask for 4-ways stops instead.
For whatever reason, she failed to return anyone's call. I think
you would find that residents would be open to a full Bike Blvd.
implementation with traffic diverters.
What stinks about this process is not involving the neighborhood when
something like this is happening. The bike blvd is now at risk for
becoming the outer beltway for taxis and others in the know. Not very
safe for us who live here and our kids as they try to use this bike route.
