My favourite observation was that in a city in which 800 pedestrians are
struck and injured or killed by vehicles every year-- more than two a
*day*-- one bicyclist striking and killing a pedestrian has attracted
international attention and even the unsought and hard-to-attract
attention of the prosecutor.
