2/12/12-2/18/12 Promote Mendota Freeze Contest: http://www.cleanlakesalliance.com/mendotafreeze Promote Endomondo in preparation for the Bike Fed's summer challenge event, we could demo it for the week Bike Fed is creating a poster we could use, which should be ready soon **Try to offer coffee/other discounts from businesses throughout week & also maybe offer coffee on the path (SW Commuter by Camp Randall, outside Machinery Row, path by Revolution & Cafe Zoma, by Goodman Center) *Coffee: Mon - B-cycle, possibly Cool Beans Tues - Stray Cat, Ironworks? Wed - Machinery Row, Just Coffee Thurs - Dream Bikes, Barriques? Fri - Maybe Revolution, Cafe Zoma? *There could be several stops & sponsors for coffee, at different points around the city Tentative agenda/events: * Sunday – Ice permitting, bike across the ice at either Monona Bay, Lake Monona, or work w/Parks to use an ice rink(maybe get Salsa's demo fat bikes); a general workshop on the basics of “how to” bike in the winter, Goodman Center or Machinery Row; workshop on studded tires (India) * Monday – B-cycle Monday w/B-cycle handing out coffee on the path & an after work party at their new location, corner of Packers & 3rd, 5-7; bike to meditate, Monona Terrace @ noon; MEAThead Ride around Lake Monona, 7 PM * Tuesday – DIY balaclava & gator party (http://bikewinter.org/fleece) at Lakeside Community Arts, Sewcial Lounge, or Sector 67 * Wednesday – Valentine’s Day – Love Your Bike; work with local bike shops to offer discount overhauls & maybe also offer a Valentine’s Day ride of some sort, suggested we do a "singles ride" or "tandem ride," or both; indoor spinning at Speed Cycling in Fitchburg, $5 drop in * Thursday – Freewheel work day, volunteer or bring your bike to tune it up yourself, 5:30-8:30; Yoga for Cyclists @ Mound St Yoga w/Ali, 5:30-7 ($12/$13, or $5 for anyone who bikes) * Friday – After work party, Brocach, Mickey's, Brink, other, raffle: B-cycle memberships, month membership to Harbor, Monkey Bar Gym, Dream Bikes, other possible stuff from local bike shops; possible ride to Great Dane or Ale Asylum * Saturday – Something in conjunction with the Madison Winter Festival (see link); Polar Plunge @ Olin Park, 10 am; indoor winter Farmers’ Market Optional Sunday - http://www.winter-fest.com/site_pages/Information/fun-to-watch/Cyclo-Frost-Cyclocross.html Madison Winter Festival - http://www.winter-fest.com Wisconsin Bike Summit the following week, www.bfw.org Aaron www.facebook.com/madbikewinter
