There is a growing chorus of groups across the country opposing Agenda 21
and anything that looks like its implementation. I ran across one such site
recently:

http://www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com/index.html

"Bikes. What does that have to do with it? I like to ride my bike and so do
you. So what? Bicycle advocacy groups are very powerful now. Advocacy. A
fancy word for lobbying, influencing, and maybe strong-arming the public and
politicians. What's the connection with bike groups? National groups such as
Complete Streets, Thunderhead Alliance, and others, have training programs
teaching their members how to pressure for redevelopment, and training
candidates for office. It's not just about bike lanes, it's about remaking
cities and rural areas to the 'sustainable model'. High density urban
development without parking for cars is the goal. This means that whole
towns need to be demolished and rebuilt in the image of sustainable
development. Bike groups are being used as the 'shock troops' for this
plan."

And speaking of Agenda 21, the people afraid of Agenda 21 at the state level
are pushing a bill to allow communities to opt-out of their comprehensive
plan by holding one public hearing and holding a vote in their common
councils. I think it should require a bit more to repeal a plan once it has
been created. Anyway, the Senate is holding a public hearing on this bill
and the meeting details are:

Assembly Bill 303 has been scheduled for a public hearing by Committee on
Economic Development and Veterans and Military Affairs in the Senate.

Date/time: February 16, 2012 at 10:05 AM.

Location: 411 South (In the State Capitol)
