Passing this on from my friend/colleague at Adventure Cycling. I offered to
organize a greeting/escort/celebration/support group when they come through
Madison. It looks like they may be through here around July 8 (if I am
reading their route correctly.)

Obviously, they would love to have donations and/or more followers on
Facebook. Links below.

Subject: Mac's Cross Country Bike Adventure

Greetings everyone,

Many of you already know that my (almost) seventeen year old son, Mac, will
be riding his bike (graciously sponsored by Salsa Cycles) across the
country this summer. Read my blog for more information:
http://blog.adventurecycling.org/2012/04/family-circles-planning-cross-country.html
.

He and his best friend Drew are doing this for their senior projects and to
raise money and awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The are
riding in honor of Cory Stalling a young man from Missoula, MT and a friend
of ours.

I am writing you to ask a couple favors. Here they are:
1) Please take a moment and check out their website:
http://bikestory4cory.blogspot.com/ and/or "like" their page on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/ABikeStoryForCory
2) Please share their story with your own friends and family - I ask this
with two thoughts in mind -

   - Keeping them safe while they are on the road - you may live in one of
the states and/or cities they will be traveling through. It would sure be
great to have someone checking in on them as they travel across this big
   country!
   - Helping the cause - we need a raise money to find a cure for DMD and
help children like Cory have quality lives. Please consider helping spread
the word - a small donation of even $10 will make a big difference. People
can donate to their website <http://bikestory4cory.blogspot.com/> or to
the JettRide <http://jettride.jettfoundation.org/> (a donation to the
Jett Foundation is tax deductible). You will find links to both Mac
Sullivan and Drew Gottman's fundraising pages here:
   http://jettride.jettfoundation.org/team/

So there you have it. This is an exciting and daunting adventure. Both the
Gottman family and our family have decided it is the chance of a lifetime
for our sons - but it doesn't come without a lot of nerves. We're doing
everything we can to ensure the boys trip is amazing and safe and that they
do their best to represent Cory and the effort to fight DMD.

Thanks!
