Josh,

I attended a preconstruction meeting in Shorewood Hills this morning, and
other than which contractors would be working on which utilities and when
(which will not affect the traffic control), I didn't get any more
information than I've already given you.

I will pass your request for more information along to the Village
Administrator for Shorewood Hills, and I'd suggest you keep an eye on their
website for more info.

The traffic control plan I outlined in my email below will still allow for
the movements you make between the Campus Dr bike path and Marshall Ct on
University Bay Drive, though there will not be a two way left turn lane in
which to stage those movements. And the congestion there is likely to
encourage lots of folks to look for alternates. Unfortunately there aren't
really any good alternates.

On the bright side, when the project is done, there will be a dedicated
northbound bike lane on the east (uphill) side of University Bay Drive, and
"sharrows" (http://www.sfmta.com/cms/bsafe/28372.html) on the southbound side
of the street from the end of Highland all the way to University Ave.

Hi Chuck,

Do you know where I could find more info about this project? Specifically
I'm wondering how it will impact my commute during the project and after.
Typically I come in on Marshall and meet up with the Campus Drive bike path
and on the way home I use the left turn lane from University Bay back onto
Marshall (this is all after I make my way through the University Ave
construction zone of horrors). I realize this isn't your project but I
couldn't find any info on Shorewood Hills' website.

Thanks...

Josh

A construction project, led by the Village of Shorewood Hills, that begins
Monday July 16 will narrow University Bay Drive from the railroad tracks
north of University Ave to Marshall Ct to one twelve foot lane in each
direction, and may also narrow Marshall Ct at its intersection with
University Bay Drive to one lane (though two-way traffic on Marshall Ct
traffic will be accommodated at all times).

The project includes several phases and multiple contractors, so things will
change throughout the process, but it is expected to last well into the fall.

Please exercise caution in the area
