Are they planning to drop by Kamp Kenwood on the leg from the Twin Cities to
Madison? It would be a nice experience for the campers and the bikers.

Subject: [Bikies] Co-cycle coming to Madison

The Co-cycle Project is a youth-led, bike-powered tour linking co-operatives
across the United States.  The tour left San Francisco on June 1st and has been
to Portland and Seattle and is now on their way to the Midwest.  They are
traveling by bike across the country spreading awareness of cooperatives as
economic, social, and ecological alternatives to conventional business models.

The tour is coming to Madison on Monday August 6th and the group encourages
local cyclists to ride along.  The group will leave Viroqua and after a quick
stop in La Farge will head to Madison.
The route is not completely set but when it is I will post it here with more
details about how and where to meet them to ride along.

While in Madison the group will tour many of our local cooperatives and will be
available to meet and greet the public at an event on Wednesday night August
8th.  This public event will be at the Wil-Mar neighborhood center at 953
Jenifer St.  Many of the details have not been worked out but as they become
available I will post them to this list.

The Madison cooperative community is very involved in helping this group
continue their tour and showing them a good time while in Madison and I think
the cycling community should show just as much enthusiasm and support.  Madison
is a national leader in cooperatives and cycling and we should not waste this
opportunity to show these riders why that is.  To help out you can go online
and donate directly to their fund which will help them pay for lodging and food
as they continue their journey.  http://www.co-cycle.coop/donate
If you would like to be more involved in the cycling side of this visit or if
your organization or company wants to be more involved through sponsorship,
either the tour as a whole or at a local event, please contact me directly.

Thank you.
