Subject: [Westmorland_News] Chip Sealing Dates wrong in Westmorland

Neighbors who have been given notice of chip sealing scheduled for their
streets:

The contractor doing the chip sealing messed up the dates on the signs
posted No Parking on the streets scheduled to be sealed. The correct
dates should be Monday, 7/30 to Thursday, 8/2. They absolutely do not
need the one month time period that was posted on the signs; work on any
given street only takes an hour or so but they need a reasonable time from
before and after for cleaning and drying and cars can't be left on the
streets during that time period.

Please pass the word on your block if your block is scheduled for the work
that the City Engineering Dept. does not expect the contractor to begin
until Monday. Fair warning that there is an outside chance that they
could begin work today but City staff told me that the need to finish
ongoing work on the eastside plus the need to come back to our
neighborhood to fix the dates on the signs means it's practically
impossible for them to do anything. They are not scheduled to work
anywhere on Friday-Sunday. Suffice it to say that City Engineering staff
(Steve Sonntag) is already inundated with calls; give him a break and
spread the word if you can.

Thanks, Dave
