I was asked to post this, since Chuck Strawser is out of town. If you will be using the eastern end of the Lakeshore Path this weekend, please be aware of the following:
“On Saturday, October 13 the Hoofer Sailing Club needs to lift-out 12 of their keelboats. Since the alumni pier is gone and with the various construction projects they will need to use Lot 8 for their crane. (Lot 8 is the parking lot by Limnology, or the eastern terminus of the Lakeshore Path.) The lift-out will occur from 6am until sunset on October 13. If the weather is bad they will move the date to Sunday, October 14. They will be using the entire lot for the large crane and will have the area secured to keep pedestrians and bikers at a safe distance. The lot is closed to people parking cars but the path is not closed.
