Fitchburg has been named a Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of
American Bicyclists. Only eight communities in Wisconsin hold this
prestigious national designation and only three of them are in the
southern half of the state—-Madison, Milwaukee, and now, Fitchburg.
Fitchburg’s award ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, November
13 at 10:30 a.m. on the Capital City State Trail bridge over Fish
Hatchery Road (near the intersection of Fish Hatchery and Hwy PD/McKee
Road,

Kevin Hardman, Executive Director of the Bicycle Federation of
Wisconsin, will present the award.
There is easy access to the ceremony site via bike lanes on Fish
Hatchery, South Fish Hatchery, and McKee Roads, the Fish Hatchery Road
side path, and the Capital City State Trail. Motor vehicle users are
also welcome, and may park south of the Quality Inn and Suites near the
former Tony Roma's restaurant.
It would be terrific to have a good turnout of bicycle advocates of all
stripes: transportation, recreation, and competitition. See you there!
