I love the solar lights along Campus Dr, and thought about the quality of
that light a lot during the very long discussion this topic has received. I
bike that path almost every day year round, which means that I frequently
bike it at night. I do note however that even when one of the lights isn't
working - and that happens once in awhile - the ambient light from adjacent
buildings and Campus Drive allows me to see reasonably well without the
overhead lights.

But I have a feeling that there would not be enough solar exposure on the
SW Path to make them work. It's pretty wooded, and in some places below the
grade of the adjacent land. Some places - like the roof of my house, with
the wrong direction roof line AND shading by trees - solar just isn't
practical.
