I've been to Charlotte three time since 2005 and have spent a total of
about three weeks there. They've got a light rail with about a dozen stops,
a bus system and Amtrak service in and out of the city. Public transit
there is better than Madison's, but Charlotte has triple our population.
I've never actually bicycled there, but I did see some bike lanes and
paths. Parts of the city seemed like they'd be easy and relatively safe to
bike for many people, other parts less so. Having said all that, I have no
idea how much of a hand Foxx had in any of the bike/ped/transit
improvements.
