Work has begun on construction of the Cannonball bicycle bridge that will span McKee Road (Highway PD) in Fitchburg and connect Cannonball to the Military Ridge State Trail. This will eliminate a dangerous crossing at the busy Verona Road intersection with PD. Piles are now being driven to support the structure. When done and Cannonball is paved it will connect Military Ridge with SW Commuter, Capital
City and Badger State Trail.
