I hope lots of people can help, because doing bicycle counts is very
important to make sure that the city (and everyone else) knows how
important bicycling is to out transportation system. Manual counts are the
absolute gold standard with regard to non-motorized transportation, and
they take a lot of people.

(Trust me that automatic counts are just OK, and still require manual
validation. We also do not have enough automatic counters in the city. They
are almost exclusively on paths, not on all path segments, and we have
virtually no data for roads!)

Are you a cyclists or pedestrian in Madison?  Do you want to help improve
facilities for these activities in our community?  Then the Wisconsin Bike
Federation needs you!

We are conducting a count of cyclists and pedestrians, and we are looking
for volunteers to help us.

*When:  *The counts will take place on *Tuesday September 10th from
4:30-6:30pm *and again on *Saturday September 14th from 12pm-2pm.*

*What we need you to do: *Volunteer to help us either Tuesday, Saturday, or
both!


*What this means from you:*

1. Attend *ONE* of the following training meetings (location TBD):

            *Wednesday, September 4th from 6-8pm*

*            Saturday, September 7th from 10am-12pm*

*            Saturday, September 7th from 1pm-3pm*



2. Count cyclists and pedestrians during the two-hour time block on
