For more than a decade, DNR employees have celebrated Bike to Work Week by riding together from five directions and converging on GEF II at the start of the day. For a while we've talked about involving other agencies and business near King Street. This year we'd like to issue an invitation.
The Bike to Work Ride is scheduled for Thursday, May 15. The ride is set up as a collection of bike buses that start a few miles from downtown (Olbrich Park, Garner Park, Hammersley and the Southwest Path, etc.) around 7 am. and converge on GEF II at 8 am. You can ride along if you want, or you can join us after the ride at the GEF Plaza where we will have bike tuneups courtesy of Machinery Row Bikes, and refreshments, courtesy of the Good Day Coffee Shop. If you or your co-workers are interested in joining us, please contact me. I don't have a place outside our Intranet to post the maps and schedules, but I can send them to anyone who is interested.
