I am seeking out people! I need people as intersection guides desperately for Walk & Roll. Thanks! Tracey [image: walk & roll] *Please consider volunteering!* The City of Madison Parks Division is pleased to bring *Walk & Roll *(Formally Ride the Drive Neighborhood Edition) to Madison’s Eastside neighborhoods on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 10am – 2pm. *Walk & Roll* is a community event that turns a 3-mile loop of Madison’s neighborhood streets and parks into a public promenade that is open to bikers, walkers, and rollerbladers. Walk & Roll was inspired by the Ciclovia in Bogota, Colombia, where city streets are closed to car traffic to allow people to participate in all kinds of free health and community-oriented events. The Eastside route will be using some main streets, including Acewood Boulevard, Cottage Grove Road and Buckeye Road. A complete map of the Walk & Roll route can be found on the Walk & Roll website. http://www.cityofmadison.com/parks/activities/walkandroll.cfm We invite participants of all ages to come out and Walk & Roll with Madison Parks! Please help support this great community event by joining our team of volunteers. Assistance is mostly needed as I*ntersection guides* along the route to ensure that participants can safely enjoy the event. There are a variety of other positions available including *bike ambassadors*, *information station guides*, *set up volunteers*, *merchandise tent volunteers*, and *area captains *. Shifts vary from 2 hours to all day; please consider joining us for the event! Have more fun by asking a friend to volunteer for the same shift. Individual volunteers can sign-up using the link below. http://www.cityofmadison.com/parks/activities/walkandRollVolunteer.cfm If you have any questions about the event, email [email protected]. A volunteer training will be held on Saturday August 22nd from 10am-11am at the Goodman Maintenance Facility located at 1402 Wingra Creek Parkway, Madison WI 53715. Please plan to come to get valuable information, T-Shirt, and name tag for the event.
