Streetsblog had a great post on clarification that the Federal Highway Administration just issued to make sure that local officials and traffic engineer know that they CAN use innovative designs and still get federal funding. Their message, "Don't use federal funding as a reason to not do good roadway design that improves biking and walking safety!"
