Friends - For my work, I have put up on our website two e-versions of a publication <http://www.ssti.us/2015/01/the-innovative-dot-a-handbook-of-policy-and-practice-ssti-sga/> we wrote -- one is for Kindle (or a Kindle app on other platforms) and one is for everything that is not a Kindle (iPad, Android, Nook, etc.) The later version is in epub file format.
I need a couple of people with tablets or e-reader to download and open the e-versions and tell me: 1. What kind of tablet/e-reader are you using? Mostly the platform or type of device. 2. Did it download OK? 3. Could you open it with your tablet or e-reader? 4. Was it a huge hassle to get it to work, or was it easy? 5. Anything else I should know about your experience. I would prefer to have my test subjects have some experience using e-books and have a reading app of some sort on your tablet. But I don't want "experts" who are adept at manipulating files on their tablet. I.E. I just want to know if it works for the average person. The publication is free and can be found at the link below (or embedded above.) You may have to scroll down a bit to find the download links. http://www.ssti.us/2015/01/the-innovative-dot-a-handbook-of-policy-and-practice-ssti-sga/ It's sort of transportation geeky, but people into that sort of thing may enjoy looking through it. I just want to know if the download and opening of the file works. (We're doing this because we are hoping some university and other professional educational outlets will use the publication, and some users may prefer to use an e-reader. Reading a PDF on a small screen is really a pain.) Thanks in advance for your help!
