Mayor Steve:
Some time ago, as an alder in Fitchburg, you indicated to me that
traffic calming islands would be installed at both the Cannonball and
Capital City Trail crossings of Seminole Highway, a busy road,
especially during commuting times. Cannonball is in Madison and they've
done their job. Capital City is in Fitchburg and you haven't. Why?
Stopping at Seminole going east is often problematic because cyclists
must re-start going upgrade. An island would provide some respite. Do
you have any plans to put it in your budget?

The City of Fitchburg is looking for your input on the proposed design
for Lacy Road from the Community Center east to S. Syene Road. We have
developed an on-line public opinion survey which includes questions
related to the project goals, multi-modal transportation facilities,
storm water management, and five (5) typical section alternatives to
react to and provide feedback on. The survey is available now through
September 18 on the City’s website at:
http://www.fitchburgwi.gov/LacyRoad. Please take a few minutes to
participate in this survey and provide your input on the design of
Lacy Road from the Community Center to S. Syene Road. Thank you for
your time and input!
Please contact Ahna Bizjak, Transportation Project Engineer, at
[email protected] or 270-4262 with any questions or
