By far the majority of people I heard testify on this project prior to completion of the EIS wanted nothing more than safer accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists, as I also said. Good afternoon, To keep you informed and involved on the Verona Road (US 18/151) Project, we wanted to share an update on the Verona Road Project schedule. Stage 1 work currently underway on the Beltline, between Whitney Way and Seminole Highway, is funded and scheduled to be completed in November 2016. Stage 2 extends along Verona Road from Raymond Road south to County PD (McKee Road) in Fitchburg. Project staff continue to review the Stage 2 project plans and construction timeline to meet the allotted program funds for each year, while minimizing impacts to the public. A portion of the Verona Road Stage 2 work is still anticipated to begin in fall 2016; however, due to funding reallocations, approximately half of the construction work scheduled for 2016 and 2017 is delayed to 2019 and 2020.
