>From Officer Kristin Radtke <[email protected]> of the UWPD. If you would like to help help, please email her directly. *[email protected] <http://wisc.edu>*
It's pretty fun, and the lights go very fast. Note that you will receive the location the day of the event. But obviously, it's going to be in the campus area/adjacent to UW (Dayton, Memorial Union, SW Path through campus, etc.), so it should be pretty easy to reach by bike. [start forwarded message] I am coordinating a Be Bright initiative for Tuesday, October 13. The time will be roughly 6:30-8:30pm. Officers will stop bicyclists without appropriate bike light and while the officer gets the persons info, educates them, and gives them a verbal warning and bike law brochure, volunteers will be installing the light sets on the bike. This is where I need volunteers. I need volunteers to install the light sets (no tools needed this year). Please email me if you are interested in helping with this initiative. I will send an email on Tuesday with final details and a location. Please know that after a very busy first 6 weeks of the semester I am taking a few days off. I will be off October 8-12. I will be back at 6:30am on October 13 and the event will be that night.
