Once again, it's time to do its bike light education campaign (which always feels to me like trying to bail the lake with a thimble.) See below if you need to know how this works*.
This time, there will be simultaneous programs by the Madison PD, UWPD, Fitchburg PD, Dane County Sheriff's Office, and Middleton PD. Volunteers are needed for the UW, Fitchburg, and Madison locations. If you would be willing to help, please email Kristin Carroll (fomerly Officer Radtke at UWPD, for those who have done this before.) [email protected] It's pretty fun, and the lights go very fast. We start about at sunset, and we are usually done within an hour. I don't have the final locations for the enforcement, but Kristin will email you about where to show up. Obviously, the UW site is on or near campus. All locations will be high-bike locations, so easy to reach by bike. * People riding their bikes without lights are stopped by the police. But instead of getting a ticket, they will have a light and rear flasher installed by volunteers. That's where we come in. Thanks in advance! Robbie Webber
