I came across this article about the "Dutch Reach" http://99percentinvisible.org/article/dutch-reach-clever-workaround-keep-cyclists-getting-doored/
which is an approach to keep car drivers from "dooring" cyclists. Obviously it only helps if the driver makes the effort. I doubt it will ever take hold in the US. But interesting nonetheless.
I saw this article on a site called "Hacker News", and it already had over 400 comments! Nothing gets a discussion going like a bunch of nerds doing the bike-vs-car argument.
In particular, I think fully 1/3 of the comments are about the effectiveness of helmets, even thought the article is not about helmets. I did *not* mention this because I want to get into argument about helmets!
I just find it interesting that these issues generate so much discussion. -- -- darin burleigh _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.danenet.org/listinfo.cgi/bikies-danenet.org
