I am looking to see if there are any disabled riders out there for easy group
rides around Madison. Maybe you ride now, maybe your interested in starting, or
assisting. Lets do it. Skill and fitness level not an impediment, only desire
and access to a bike are required.
About me: I am 55 y.o. , fat, had 2 strokes, type 1 diabetes, ataxia (lack of
co-ordination and involuntary muscle movements) and COPD and walk like a drunk
Frankenstein's monster. I ride a Specialized Sirrus elite, but I have a slow
reaction time due to having to concentrate on everything I am doing.
Despite my wishes, my son (17 yrs.) insisted on growing up and between school,
work, and life is no longer a reliable ride partner. So I am looking to replace
him.  (little brat!)
I like to ride to State St. and Memorial Union, for shopping and lunch,
breakfasts and farmers market. I like to make stops as often as desired or
necessary. For now I aim for 10 - 12 miles round trip. But I like to have a
destination and event. I am glad to throw the bike on the bus to go to Point
Cinema or Sundance, Hang out at the Terrace to watch the sailing. (I joined
Hoffers Sailing, but kept falling in the water and capsizing)
So that is all for now, If you might like to try, send me an e-mail and we can
work it out. [email protected]
Ron
