A few minutes of your day could make a big difference for many people!

West Wilson St. poses a major gap in east/west cross-town transport for
people traveling by bike. Rather than fix the gap by providing safe
on-street accommodations for people on bicycles, our city engineers have
proposed to widen the sidewalk on the two blocks of W. Wilson Street that
are one-way from 6 feet to 8 feet so that people walking or using mobility
devices and people who are biking have a little more room to SHARE the
sidewalk, rather than having separate accommodations for people who are
biking west to east on W. Wilson Street.

A widened sidewalk is not safe or efficient and is sure to promote
conflicts between people on bikes and people on foot, and for those who use
any sort of mobility device. Sidewalks need to be safe and comfortable for
the slower foot and mobility-device traffic and free of cars and bicycles.
If you are willing to take a moment to send a pre-composed email (see link
below) to support safe and efficient accommodations for people traveling by
all modes on these two blocks of W. Wilson St., please do!

Feel free to ask me any clarifying questions you may have.

Thanks everyone and a friendly reminder to PLEASE VOTE today in our
statewide elections! The future of our k-12 public education is at stake.
Those are the cyclists of today and tomorrow.
