A good article <https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/07/nyregion/nyc-biking-covid-women.html?action=click&module=Editors%20Picks&pgtype=Homepage>in the New York Times about women being responsible for most of the increase in bicycling in New York City during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reason for the increase in women bicyclists: the dramatic decrease in traffic during the pandemic dramatically reduced their biggest fear, that of safety.
