Am I alone in the world to have some problems with bincimap 1.2.3 and Outlook ?
I can't even start outlook without it crashing now that I've subscribed it to my imap account. Whether its a result of binc sending down something unreasonable for imap clients to handle or not (and I doubt it is) - crashing is really unaccectable behaviour. For instance how can I now unsubscribe from my imap account to continue using other accounts from outlook given I can't start it?
1. Log into a Unix shell and remove the .bincimap-subscribed file.
2. By finding another IMAP client that does not crash and unsubscribing from all the folders, then resubscribing (is this a word?) through Outlook.
3. Call the help desk and ask them to do #1.
I can think a of few others, but they are variations on the theme.
Henry:-)
I don't think anyone would tolerate this sort of performance from an open source product - it should be tolerated even less from close source products given you're now stuck in a bind with no way of making a fix yourself or getting a fix from a supportive community of users.
Unless you have to work within company policy consider giving up on the buggy POS. I'm currently using thunderbird from mozilla.org with very good success.
Either way, good luck!
Andy.
