FWIW, I've begun work on just such a thing, after my less-than-24-hours of experience with binc. My writup is going to explain how to get the thing working on Slackware with inetd and Postfix, however. I just need to get this SSL/TLS stuff working and maybe figure out how to get binc to compile on my old 8.1 box (not necessary as I'm sure it compiles properly under 9.0 and 9.1) before I really dive in and get something up on the web - it'll probably start off in the alt.os.linux.slackware FAQ-O-Matic.
